Yes, it’s another blog from the infrequent blogger! Life seems all busy-ness for me at the moment. I love it that way, but never seem to get time to do those little writing jobs (like this blog) that I so enjoy doing.
No excuses though, all it takes is a little organisation. Usually my strong point, but somehow time just seems to slip away at the moment. It’s hard to believe that I gave up work in January and am still getting organised… Still, no doubt about it, things are getting better and more organised every day.
Last week saw the last of our Tuesday Meditation Group for the summer. We’ll meet again in September once the school summer holidays are over so I’m looking forward to that. However, this does give me some time to focus on other things. I have grand plans for a book I want to write about Cosmic Ordering, the Law of Attraction etc. and I’m really looking forward to getting into that. However, before I can begin that, I’ve two other books (well, a book and an accompanying workbook), which have been half finished for a couple of years now that I want to finish.
What seems to happen is that I (and most of us, I think) end up with many, many unfinished jobs hanging around and for me, this seems to delay the start of something new. It feels like the energy of the unfinished work is getting in the way of the new stuff I want to do. And I always feel a tremendous sense of satisfaction and relief when I get those unfinished jobs done, even if I’ve really enjoyed doing them. For me, the energy rush is just what I need to push me on to other things.
The same applies to clearing out the clutter. I went through my wardrobe recently, and gave loads of clothes away to charity that I haven’t worn for ages. Despite going shopping for new clothes a fair bit lately, I haven’t been able to find anything I liked and it wasn’t until I cleared out my wardrobe that I suddenly found lots of lovely things appearing before me! They say nature abhors a vacuum so she has obviously rushed to fill my half-empty wardrobe up, and with even better things than I gave away!
I do this around my home too, whenever I can and it really makes a positive difference to the energy. It’s something you may like to try if you’re feeling ‘stuck’ somehow. Of course, you don’t need to throw things away or even give them away. You could always get yourself some cardboard boxes and ‘store’ your things in there for the time being. Number each box and make a list of what’s in each box as you pack it, then when you’re finished, type up a list on your computer or write one, in alphabetical order by item and keep it somewhere safe. Then if you find you absolutely can’t do without that widget you packed, you can look under ‘w’ on your list and see which box it’s packed in to retrieve it. That way, you’ll have a lot less clutter around and that stagnant energy which always gathers wherever clutter thrives will be moved on. You may well find your life moving on in lovely ways too…
The same applied to unfinished jobs. If I find a job that I have to do which I’m not looking forward to, I do it better and more willingly if I promise myself a little treat afterwards. I set a day and time when I will do the job and ‘book an appointment’ with myself to complete it. I also decide what I will do afterwards to reward myself and I make sure I keep both commitments. That way, the job gets done, I get my reward and I also feel good because I’ve accomplished something. And those jobs we keep putting off always seem to take less energy to actually do, than to keep putting off don’t they?
For me, clearing out the clutter and doing the unfinished jobs seems to be the key to moving forward in my life. It works on a physical, mental and emotional level to lift me up and keep me going. Maybe the same could be true for you?
